Political and Social Dimensions of Foreign Language Teaching in Europe: The Social Construction of Strong and Weak Languages

The conference aims to explore the linguistic policies actually implemented in Europe concerning foreign language education, in comparison to the official statements made by institutions and European countries that advocate for multilingualism and plurilingualism. Particular attention will be given to foreign languages that are not promoted in many countries, despite the demands imposed by their economic, commercial, and socio-cultural contexts.
