Objectives
Under the Creative Europe Programme (MEDIA strand), the action Innovative tools and business models aims to encourage the development and/or the spread of innovative tools and business models to improve the visibility, availability, audience and diversity of European works in the digital era and the competitiveness of the audiovisual industry.

Within the objective of promoting innovation, competitiveness and scalability of the European audiovisual sector, priorities include promotion and marketing tools, including online and through the use of data analytics, business tools improving the efficiency and transparency of the markets such as automated rights management and data gathering and analysis, business models optimising synergies between distribution platforms, and tools exploring new modes of production, financing, distribution or promotion enabled by technologies like AI, big data, blockchain and virtual worlds. Applications must include strategies for a more sustainable and environmentally respectful industry and measures on gender balance, inclusion, diversity and representativeness. Transparency plays a key role, with plans to disclose inputs and results and communicate them to authorities and the industry.
